So, what's up my strange and crazy and excellent regular readers? All... maybe 2... of you.
This week I had an awesome opportunity to take a weeklong 2D videogaming course at WSU and I have learned how to make some very basic 2D videogames. We got a copy of a textbook and the software, which is called Game Maker 7...
And my team's game idea is the best and most unique... it's about a kid named Ozwald who returns home one day to find that his neighborhood has been ransacked by goats and his family has been killed. They took his blender. He want's some smoothies, and he wants his blender back WITH A VENGEANCE!!!!! So, he must travel the neighborhood ridding it of the evil goats and finding his legendary blender!
I totally wish we could publish it online or something, but we can't because of copyright stuffs. We didn't have time to make our own sprites, so this game has borrowed sprites... and I can't tell anyone which ones. I may remake it some day with other sprites and whatnot, then everyone could play it, but until then... Yeah.
...And I was wondering if anyone would want to make some sprites? I plan on actually using the software to make some games after this week, and I would like to vary the style of my games. So... if anyone wants to make some sprites, let me know. Also the conditions. Of course you will get full credit as the games artist, but if there are any conditions further than that, I'm open to negotiation.
And...
Next week is the 3D gaming class thing, and I'm just as excited for that. I'll have to let you chilluns know how that goes.
Brandon Sanderson is awesome. I highly encourage people to go pick up his books. And read them, of course.
And my summer has been super busy so far, but now it's cooling down and I should have some time to draw some stuff.
So, me and my dad took a weekend off just the two of us a week and a half ago, and it was awesome. I never get to spend a whole lot of time with my dad becuase of the large number of offspring in my family... We went up to Rexburg, Idaho, where my grandparents live and my dad grew up. He took me around and showed me a bunch of stuff from his childhood and whatnot. Then we went and saw the Teton Dam, which broke a while ago and flooded the area. We went and saw some movies and pretty much just chilled together. It was awesome. My grandpa started to teach me how to weld and I got some arcburn, which is like sunburn, but it happens faster. It was a great weekend.
So, Banzai preregestration has started, and hopefully I can go in October. It's 20 dollars for the whole weekend if you preregister, as opposed to 25 a day at the time of the actual event... It's the only anime convention that is anywhere close to my house and one of my friends from work told me about it. I really want to go. I hear there's lots of really cool prizes and whatnot and it's just really fun in general.
